Movements Of The Shadows
Felt that chill today and realized summer is over, and I’m okay with that. The sun falls to sleep earlier in October and the surroundings have a stirring mystery, something you really can’t have to much in summer. In my headphones, Tennessee by Arrested Development is playing as I walked back from my bros house near by. Rocking a dark hoodie, dark khakis and my backpack with red designs as the only deep color different from my whole attire gave me an undertone feeling like I was a movement of the shadows. Walked by a group and without seeing it happen, spooked all of them, because they couldn’t see my coming until I was right beside them. Thought “oh damn”, because they were wearing bright clothes and I didn’t even see them. But not a little further my ear is caught by a sound. Pay no attention to it until I hear again, faintly. It gets louder the rolling of the wheels of a skateboard and through the darkness I could hear them build up speed. Who is it? The rolling is all you hear, crunching small bits off the concrete, I’m scared and excited because the anticipation is killing me and I want to see if what I have in my head is who is coming. I can hear the feet hitting the ground for speed and the boarder doesn’t have to worry about how fast he is going because he knows the people on the other end can hear it. As he passed by sporting a pretty dope Discrete Cap I notice that was pretty much the only change to an all black attire he was rocking. I learn tonight boarding down a strip in the pitch dark, that’s an awesome part of skateboarding because they truly can become movements of the shadows.
